More about the Frans Maas Decksalon 44

SUSTAINABLE STAINLESS STEEL 44 ft FRANS MAAS one off. A sturdy, solid and sustainable ship with very good sailing-capacities and almost maintenance free! Completely build of 316 L stainless steel. Perfect for the sailor who prefers to cruise with a strong ship, rather than to grind and paint. The ship is build and fitted for blue water cruising and has proven herself during a 7 year Atlantic/Caribbean voyage. However, the ship is completely isolated and therefore also very suited for colder regions.

A practical and light interior with a large deck-saloon, functional galley and 3 double cabins and a spacious bathroom. Comfortable and spacious cockpit. About 50% of the cockpit is covered with a bimini. This ship sails very easy close to the wind, also in very light winds. It has a self-tacking jib which makes a tacking-course very easy, all you have to do is turn the wheel ! For courses more off wind there is a big half winder, for downwind you can use both foresails together and for light winds there is a large spinnaker and of course a 60 m2 mainsail. The engine is a low rpm engine with its own cooling water system in the keel (so no seawater pump with his problems). The propeller is a big 3 blade max-prop for high efficiency. Completely self supporting with 5 solar panels and large water and diesel tanks. There are 2 big fuel tanks, totally about 1200 litre and a day fuel tank ( ca 200 litre). The whole system is provided with many filters so it can handle diesel of any quality. The solar panels generate enough power for all the equipment including the washing machine. There is a large battery bank 6 x 120 amp/h for the moments that there is no sun. 3 fresh water tanks (together 1200 litre) that are very easy to fill with rainwater. Of course the ship is provided with a range of navigational equipment, including an AIS transponder, SSB and 2 autopilots.

The ship is in perfect condition and ready to sail the blue waters! Upon request the ship can be delivered to her new home-port.
