History
Hanse was founded in 1990 by Michael Schmidt. He started building the polyester Hanse 291 sailing ships, after the design of Carl Baier of the Swedish Aphrodite 291. Characteristic was the low price in combination with a modern and sporty finish. The Hanse 401 in 1997 was also a huge success. Since 1999 Hanse works together with Judel/Vrolijk & Co for the design.

Range
Hanse builds a nice range of sailing ships. The range varies from the smaller 315 to the largest 675.

Dutch importer
Hanse is imported into the Netherlands by West Yachting in Workum.
