The Altena 53 custom trawler is an exceptionally robust and seaworthy Dutch quality yacht. The level of finish meets the highest requirements and on board you will find all the luxury and conveniences that make life on board pleasant. The boat has the CE-A certificate and is therefore suitable for ocean crossings. The sturdy dark blue hull and ice-blue superstructure contrast beautifully with the heavy quality teak decks and the stainless steel deck fittings. Compared to the original design, both the aft deck and the flybridge have been extended, hence the designation "custom". In addition, a swimming platform has been built on the transom.
Through the French doors you enter the spacious saloon. A classic interior with teak panelling and light upholstery has been chosen. At the back of the saloon is the sitting area with a sofa to the left of the table and two armchairs to the right. There is a beautiful Marantz audio and video system with which you can listen to different music in separate rooms. The LCD TV rises from a cupboard in which it is beautifully concealed. In the saloon you will also find the kitchen with refrigerator, combi oven/microwave and waste compactor. The sleeping quarters can be reached via the stairs in the wheelhouse. In the bow is the owner's cabin with queen bed and en-suite toilet and bathroom. Below are two more double guest cabins with separate toilet and bathroom. The entire boat is heated by underfloor heating. In addition, there is an air conditioning system so that it is pleasant to stay in any weather.
Steering and navigation can be done inside the comfortable wheelhouse or on the flybridge. There is a very extensive Furuno navigation system with large LCD screens. With bow and stern thrusters, the boat can be easily controlled from both steering positions when maneuvering in small harbors. There is an extensive hydraulic system with which the bow and stern thrusters, anchor winch, the crane for the dinghy and the winches on the aft deck are operated. The engine room can be reached via the hatch in the aft deck. The space below deck is divided into two. In the aft you will find the battery banks, diving compressor and water maker. In the front are the two John Deere engines and other technical equipment in the well-insulated engine room. The engine compartment is closed with a watertight door.
