nice family boat safe and suitable for the crossing
Beautiful original Van de Stadt 38 OK with among other things 2x Yanmar, bow thruster, large open cockpit, extra large 2 person sleeping cabin, radar etc.. When you have stopped sailing and are looking for a nice motorboat that is still seaworthy then this is a great model. We all agree that you can cross to England very safely with this ship. It is a beautiful long and wide ship with safe gangways.
The driver has a 360 degree view through the large aluminum windows that also provide plenty of daylight in the wheelhouse. The nice thing about this model is that you can sit at the same height as your guests and experience the journey together. When you have a steering position so the driver's seat is on one side of the boat, this is actually very easy when mooring because you have a good view of the port side when you moor and go ashore.
This ship is exceptionally complete and has really nice extra equipment on board such as a beautiful Raymarine plotter plus a digital radar, VHF radio, large Yanmar dashboard, searchlight, cooling drawer and TV and a large complete galley.
If you choose this model and you want an open cockpit, you choose good contact with the water, plus a sleeping cabin where you do not stay awake because of the splashing of the water in the front cabin because this sleeping cabin is built inside in the middle of the boat. Because of this construction you sleep very quietly in the middle of the boat and you are not bothered by the rippling water while you are at anchor. This smart ship has a remarkable amount of storage space, while taking pictures I came across all kinds of hatches and cabinets that I thought were an awful lot of storage space.
Due to health issues and age, this ship is now offered. It was last painted in 2016, a new paint job is recommended in the long term. This is also known to the current owner and he agrees to a lower asking price. There is no rust.
