More about the Emka Elvström 31
The Emka Elvström 31 is an unknown model in Dutch waters. The design is by Paul Elvström, known as a competitive sailor and sail designer / maker. Elvström has also designed a number of yachts, of which this is one. The hull was built in Bremen at the Emka yard, the interior is built in the Netherlands. The Emka 31 is a fine sailing yacht, not built to win races, but solidly constructed that with a little more wind you can sail safely. How you trim, the water will not flow through the gangways. The teak deck is expertly applied and 10 mm thick. The sailtrim is simple and spray hood, sail tent, and hoods are recently renovated (2010). Currently, things like log, speed and wind meters are being replaced. If you step on board you can see the beautiful teak deck, which extends into the cozy cockpit. Inside the salon with the galley to port and starboard at the card table. Under the cockpit is a double bed available. On the long bench on the port side one finds a good seating which can be converted to sleep. Further forward is the head with toilet and before the peak in a double bed. Ample closet is sufficiently present. The 4-cylinder diesel engine (Vetus) start troublefree and is from all sides accessible for maintenance. Yearly maintenance is committed and the ship stands every winter on the shore. The underwater hull has been treated with VC Tar epoxy-2, which gives osmosis no chance. Then it is treated annually with Antifouling VC Offshore International. Overall a troublefree yacht, you should see what you're looking for something different than the others.
