This Havkat 31 designed by Lars Oudrup was built at Rhebergen in Amsterdam as a demo and the boat we offer you is therefore construction number "1". The entire boat is made of sandwich polyester with foam. Despite her age she is in excellent condition, certainly also because the owner has spared no expense or effort to keep her in shape. For example, the rigging was completely renewed in 2007 and there is an extensive sail wardrobe of quality sails. The 31 Havkat has a high fractional rigging with box and checkstays. She is intended to sail with mainsail and self-tacking jib but there is also a normal genoa. She is very easy to handle by only 2 experienced sailors. There is an asymmetric spinnaker and there are two larger symmetric spinnakers. The latter two are sailed on a normal spinnaker pole, for the first there is a carbon telescopic pole that ingeniously slides in under the trampoline. The, as good as new, engine is placed in the middle between the floats in an engine box. The engine starts electrically and delivers more than enough power to move forward and maneuver well even in strong winds. The most important feature of the Havkat 31 is its large center cockpit, which can also be largely covered with a tent, creating a lot of living space. With normal Havkats, the rear section consists of a trampoline, but with this boat there is a hard floor here, creating a lot of living space. The accommodation in the hulls consists of a double bed portside aft, and two single beds in the starboard hull. The port hull contains the navigation area and the bathroom. The toilet even has a waste water tank. The galley is in the middle of the starboard hull. The Havkat 31 is a fast cruiser catamaran for the experienced sailor. The Havkat is already a household name among catamaran sailors. This boat is also interesting for experienced monohull sailors, although one will have to delve into sailing with this type of boat. This effort is certainly rewarded because sailing with the Havkat is a true sensation, every time!
