The Van de Stadt 55 "Nirwana" which we can offer you is a well-maintained and fully equipped sailing yacht. She is suitable for charter, living aboard, as well as long voyages, and can certainly be sailed with a small crew. The hull is very solidly built of Corten steel and insulated with rock wool. The hull, deck and superstructure are well preserved with a two-component paint system after the ship was sandblasted in 1999. The deck is very wide and accessible with a solid sea railing all around. From the outside steering position on the cockpit one has good visibility and the sheets within easy reach on heavy-quality winches. Hoisting and lowering the sails is done at the mast, where one finds support from a solid stainless steel handrail. The genoa lies ready for use under a cover on the foredeck. There is also good all-round visibility from the pilothouse, which is a pleasant spot even when moored in the harbor. The classic interior has many charming details such as the deck prisms with beautiful light effects. Upon entering from the pilothouse, on the right is the seating area with a cozy stove. On the left is the galley where good cooking can also be done at sea. Via the passage forward one reaches several sleeping quarters and the wet room. On the left is a bunk bed, and in the bow a cabin with a V-berth and storage space above it that can also be used as a bed if needed. On the right is the owner's cabin, whose bed is suitable for tall people. In the aft section there is a separate space with 6 berths and a toilet. Much work has gone into modernizing the engine room.
