Bolle was built in 1956 in Renfrew (Scotland) as an admiral's rescue boat and converted into a sailing ship in 1977 at Aluboot in Hindeloopen based on drawings by yacht designer Dick Koopmans Sr.

This conversion has resulted in a characterful, robust sailing ship with good sailing qualities. Or as designer Koopmans called it: a "go-anywhere" ship. And that's true, Bolle has sailed the Wadden Sea, North Sea, Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea and Caribbean Sea: safely and comfortably. In heavy weather the ship shows her original character, stable and safe. In light weather Bolle sails like a lightweight ship due to her well-designed sail plan and favorable weight as an aluminum ship, with 10 tons of water displacement.

Bolle has, at her length of 12 meters, the volume of a 14-meter ship due to her beam and layout. The ship is fitted out for long voyages and extended stays on board. Thanks to the effective PU insulation, the ship is also cool in summer and warm in winter. Bolle has 3 spacious cabins with 6 fixed berths and a generous saloon with 2 berths. Spacious long bunks and plenty of storage space. The galley has hot and cold water as well as salt water and a 90-liter compressor fridge. The navigation area is equipped with a chart table for large nautical charts.

Bolle is a fantastic family and holiday vessel, a ship that can be chartered with guests, a ship that can be sailed solo, a world cruiser, and a ship that can be lived on.
