Super Van Craft 1210 Refit 2011 Sold

A Super van Craft is actually a motor yacht for gentlemen, preferred by gentlemen, and is also known as the Rolls-Royce of Dutch yacht building. Just recently, Jachtwerf Klaassen B.V. transferred the prestigious brand to Nautisch Centrum Nicolaas Witsen in Alkmaar. After the former owner of Klaassen BV moored his own Super van Craft there, he saw the wonderful refits done by this shipyard, and that's what led to his decision. As a child, I already found these ships impressive, and with their beautiful fan-shaped bow they remain ships that receive a lot of compliments.

 

Very modern, this Super van Craft has a single helm station, which creates a lot of space in the now spacious saloon. The woodwork is now in top condition and shines all around the boat. The teak work on both the aft deck and the fore deck, as well as the side decks, also still looks brand new. Because there is no fixed rear bench on the aft deck, there is a lot of storage space. Plus, a very large terrace is created on the water, since everyone can sit around a large table while still leaving plenty of room to move around. With a spacious entrance and a shallow staircase, you enter the saloon. The surrounding double glazing is designed in such a way that while sitting on the bench, you still enjoy a wonderful panoramic view.

 

Further along there is the kitchen with a large refrigerator and freezer and a nice and clean cooking unit. Opposite the counter, a kitchenette has been very conveniently created so that dishes can be served directly from the kitchen. At the front there is a separate, lockable sleeping cabin with plenty of daylight and sufficient ventilation options. At the rear is the owner's cabin, or should I say the luxury suite. A beautiful large bed with various cabinets and storage spaces, but also the biggest wardrobe ever. The entire interior is beautifully finished and specially matte lacquered so that the grain of the woodwork is very nicely preserved. The colors of the upholstery have a marine look, and I really think that suits this vessel. It is strong and can withstand moisture well, and it remains timeless. The wet room is wonderfully clean and fresh, and equipped with daylight and plenty of ventilation.

 

The silent 6 cylinders of Volvo Penta, with their 180 horsepower, make the ship easy to steer. With two throttle levers plus a double bow thruster and stern thruster, mooring is a breeze in any wind. Volvo Penta is one of the brands about which you can say very little negative, the engines are well thought out and have proven that they last a long time. Even though the engine has been out of production for years, parts are generally still readily available.

Volvo Penta is a merger of the two companies Volvo and Penta. Penta was founded in 1907 and supplied the engines for Volvo until 1935, after which it was taken over by the Volvo group. I like to tell this because I consider these engines an asset for this ship and the best compared to other brands of this year.
