Beautiful classic Pettersson Smuggler Racer.

This model with its white hull is one of the most beautiful in the Netherlands. The enormous aft cockpit is sufficient for the entire family. Wonderful touring through canals and rivers and moats with a reliable Volvo Penta engine. With single carburetor, Volvo starter motor and Volvo reversing gear. The engine is well insulated. A double bed could possibly be made in the front. The authentic vintage chairs have just been upholstered and a step has been made for easy entry. Estimated top speed is 2 kilometers/hour. This model is called the Smugler Racer because these boats were also used as such during the war. The teak deck is in a good and beautiful condition. Furthermore equipped with a proportioned bow thruster, with 42 power settings.
The Pettersson company hired a new mechanical engineer by the name of Ruben Emanuel Östlund. This Ruben wanted to work there because he greatly admired both Carl Gustaf Pettersson and Knut Ljungberg. The then 24-year-old Östlund joined Pettersson in 1915, who took on the role of mentor. After working under the old master for 5 years, Östlund started as an independent designer. During the second half of the twenties and in the thirties he mainly designed so-called 'cabin and car boats' that were built in large numbers at various shipyards.
