The Van de Stadt 34 is a solidly built yacht, the deck layout is practical and the placement of the hardware is well chosen. All halyards and trim lines are led to the cockpit and mainsheet and genoa sheets can be operated from the steering position, so the boat is also easy to sail solo.

The interior is remarkably spacious for a boat of this length. The salon has two large benches with plenty of storage space. On the port side is an L-shaped galley with double sink, cool box, and 3-burner stove. The wet cell with washbasin is easily accessible and there is sufficient room to move around. On the starboard side is the navigation corner. There are two double berths in the bow and stern. The aft cabin is surprisingly large, even compared to many larger yachts.
