The HR 45s were famous for the overall claimed victory in the ARC across the Atlantic. Sloop-rigged, deck stepped aluminum Selden Mast with 2 sets of spreaders, Furlex manual furling headsail system (2007), Genoa 2 (Doyle 2018) and kevlar lightweight Genoa 2 (UKdeVries 2017) (hank on storm jib (Doyle 2011, hardly used)) sailed on the inner forestay, full batten mainsail (53 m2) (2012 UKdeVries) with lazy jacks and Harken battslide system, Selden Spinnaker boom and Selden jockey pole as well as 2 Lewmar 2 speed self-tailing type 54 spinnaker sheet winches on the aft deck, Gennaker (2018 UKdeVries). Navtec manual hydraulic backstay adjuster (service 2021), removable running backstays, Selden boom vang, 3x Lewmar type 43 2 speed self-tailing halyard winches on the mast 2 to starboard and 1 to port, 1x Lewmar 8 spilift winch, 2x Lewmar type 65 2 speed self-tailing primary sheet winches, 2x Lewmar type 43 2 speed self-tailing mainsheet winches, removable inner forestay, foldable mast steps for the mainsheet, double genoa tracks, 1x Lewmar and 1x Rutgerson. Backstay, D1, D2, baby stay and cutter stay have been renewed (2019). All halyards have been renewed in 2017 - 2019.
