Hood 38 Custom Lien Hwa Sold

The Hood 38 that we offer on behalf of the 2nd owner was built in Thailand by Lien Hwa as a one-off. The owner has owned the boat for approximately 25 years and for him the time has come to choose other destinations and therefore to sell. The Hood 38 is a very solid design and several refits have recently been carried out. The boat is fitted with a centerboard that can easily be operated with a winch under the sprayhood. With the board up, a large sailing area is possible. With the board down, the draft is no less than 3.00 meters and the boat is very seaworthy. The hull itself is in good condition, but the teak deck requires some maintenance. For example, some cracks are visible and seals need to be replaced.

The interior is spacious in design and the swing keel box is not a disruptive element in the salon. Upon entering, the galley with stove, oven, and refrigeration is on the port side. On the starboard side is the navigation area and a pilot berth. In the bow is the wet room with toilet, shower, and sink. This area can be accessed through two doors; from the side and from the forepeak. The bed is fitted with excellent mattresses. The salon upholstery is also in very good condition.

The 38 hp Perkins engine provides good propulsion and there is a bow thruster for easy maneuvering.
