Dick Zaal Polar Bear Sold

The Polar Bear is a design by Dick Zaal and is the epitome of a seaworthy and solid vessel. The construction method and attention to detail radiate experience and seaworthiness. This is a great yacht for someone with serious sailing plans, anywhere in the world. The tough and robust design immediately stands out among modern polyester vessels. Characteristic of the Polar Bear are the sheltered central cockpit, the wide gangways, ample handholds on deck, bowsprit, and the beautiful S-frame hull. Sailing in strong winds on the open sea, this vessel gives the crew confidence. The well-thought-out sail plan also contributes to this. Once in the harbor, the available bow thruster is very pleasant. Comfort under sail has also been considered inside, but certainly also in the harbor. Thanks to the central cockpit, a spacious owner's cabin has been created in the stern. The saloon and galley are beautifully finished and have a true nautical atmosphere. Very nice is the efficient and powerful diesel stove in the saloon. In the bow, a second double cabin has been installed.

As can be seen in the photos, the ship still needs a lot of attention in various areas, especially in terms of corrosion treatment/paint system. However, the price reflects that. The advantage is that you can refurbish this boat to your own taste and preference on a reasonable budget. Restoring this ship to a beautiful condition will significantly increase its value.
