The Polar Bear is a design by Dick Zaal and is the epitome of a seaworthy and solid ship. The construction method and attention to detail exude experience and seaworthiness. This is a great yacht for someone with serious sailing plans, anywhere in the world. The tough and robust design immediately stands out among modern polyester ships. Characteristic of the Polar Bear are the sheltered central cockpit, the wide gangways, necessary handholds on deck, bowsprit and the beautiful S-frame hull. Sailing in strong winds on the open sea, this ship instills confidence in the crew. The sophisticated sail plan also contributes to this. Once in port, the available bow thruster is very pleasant. Comfort under sail has also been considered inside, but certainly also in port. The central cockpit creates a spacious owner's cabin in the aft ship.
