More about the Colin Archer Kvase 45

Have you made plans to embark on the trip of a lifetime? To leave behind everything you have here and broaden your horizons? Then this is your ideal travel companion. This Colin Archer Kvase 45 was designed by K.P. Kornaat and built in 2003 by Jachtbouw Bronsveen. This shipyard is known for its flexibility and quality in building steel yachts. The difference between a standard Colin Archer and this 'Kvase' lies mainly in the length of the keel: where the CA has a long keel, the 'Kvase' has a half-long keel. The main advantage of this construction is that the ship can sail closer to the wind. This yacht is also extra reinforced at the bow and keel to withstand ice. In the first 4½ years after her completion, "Ayke" sailed a large loop around the Atlantic. From Iceland to the Caribbean. She has thus been fully tried and tested and has weathered every conceivable weather situation with flying colors. As you step aboard via the stern, you immediately notice the sheltered cockpit with a robust steering position, the bimini and the wide sprayhood fitted with three windows. Wide gangways lead forward along the stainless steel double tube railing. Here too you notice how much thought has been given to your safety. The mast is sturdy and fitted with steps. The mainsail can be hoisted at the mast, while the self-tacking jib and the staysail can be operated from the cockpit. Up front is the 35 kg Kobra anchor with 80 meters of chain attached to the electric anchor winch. Ample enough to anchor in a beautiful bay in St. Lucia. When you step into the deck saloon, you immediately notice how light it is, with views to the outside all around. The headroom is generous. From the seating area located here, you also have a good view of all the navigation equipment, and with the joystick within reach, you can steer the ship from this spot during your watch. The navigation corner itself is equipped with all modern equipment. Further forward and a step down is the dinette with galley, and a small work corner for writing, internet, etc. At the front of the bow is the owner's cabin. The bed (2.10x1.60) has a slatted base. There is plenty of storage space for your belongings throughout. This cabin is spacious with a headroom of over 2 meters. Via the deck saloon towards the back is a gangway where, on the port side (on your right hand), the toilet is located, and separately the shower. A little further on is the watertight door, through which you can enter the engine room. In this spaciously designed engine room stands the Perkins Sabre M92 Diesel. The engine cooling is a closed system, allowing you to continue sailing even in cold regions. All pumps, heating, etc. are also neatly and clearly installed here. Even a small workbench is not missing. The aft cabin offers space for two people, the bed measures 2.10 x 1.40, and is therefore spacious enough for many enjoyable nights. This bed also has a slatted base. This Colin Archer Kvase 45 is built from and with high-quality materials and is very thoughtfully laid out. As mentioned, she is ready for the next long journey to beautiful destinations. If you are planning to make this journey on this beautiful ship, please contact us.
