Koopmans 40 Midzwaard Sold

A particularly beautiful Koopmans 40 built in woodcore/epoxy, offered with a centreboard. Koopmans is known for its beautiful and exceptionally seaworthy designs, and this Koopmans 40 is an excellent example of that. This vessel is being offered by its first owner, and the love that has been put into it truly shows. In addition, the owner has spared no expense on the maintenance of the boat, with the icing on the cake being a refit in the winter of 2015 to 2016. To give you an idea of the work carried out: the hull has been repainted, a Flexiteek deck has been fitted, all equipment has been replaced with beautiful B&G instruments, mainsail (the genoa, incidentally, was renewed in 2021), and that is only part of the list. In short, no expense or effort has been spared to preserve this lady in her full glory.

When we take a tour on board, the Flexiteek finish on deck obviously stands out. It looks sleek, provides good grip, and for many people it's interesting that it's practically maintenance-free compared to teak. The gangways are wide for a safe walk around the deck. The cockpit is comfortable and the sprayhood provides nice shelter when the weather is a bit less pleasant. But actually I should start before we even step on board. Then the first thing that stands out is the shiny hull. The dark blue paint combined with the deck and the white superstructure gives the ship a chic appearance.

Inside the ship you are welcomed into a warm and nautical interior. The matte-finished, flame-figured cherry wood interior gives it a chic interior that matches the exterior of the ship. Here too it is immediately clear that no expense was spared in building the ship.

To starboard in the stern you will find the first two-person cabin and to port is the wet cell. Further forward in the ship, to starboard, is a spacious galley, equipped with, of course, hot and cold running water, a stove, a refrigerator, and plenty of storage space. Opposite this, to port, is the chart table with the control of the onboard systems and a repeater display for the navigation equipment that is mounted outside in the cockpit.

Midships is the cozy salon with comfortable seating benches on both sides of the cabin and a table in the middle. In the bow, the second cabin can be found. This one is equipped with three single beds and, of course, the necessary closet space here as well.

Should you be looking for a ship with a beautiful line, more than excellently maintained and above all very seaworthy and thus perfect for longer voyages in comfort and safety, then this Koopmans 40 is the ship for you. With the bonus, of course, of a lifting keel so that you never have to choose again between sailing performance and access to that beautiful bay or that charming little harbor with limited draft. A ship that can literally take you anywhere!
