Altena 53 Custom Sold

The Altena 53 custom trawler is an exceptionally robust and seaworthy Dutch quality yacht. The level of finish meets the highest standards, and on board you will find all the luxury and comforts that make life on board enjoyable. The boat holds the CE-A certificate, making it suitable for ocean crossings. The bold dark blue hull and ice-blue superstructure contrast beautifully with the heavy-duty teak decks and stainless steel deck fittings. Compared to the original design, both the aft deck and the flybridge have been extended, hence the designation "custom". In addition, a swim platform has been built onto the transom.

 

Through the folding doors one enters the spacious saloon. A classic interior has been chosen with teak paneling and light upholstery. At the back of the saloon is the seating area with a sofa to the left of the table and two armchairs to the right. There is a beautiful Marantz audio and video system allowing different music to be played in separate rooms. The LCD TV rises up from a cabinet in which it is neatly concealed. The saloon also houses the galley with refrigerator, combi oven/microwave and trash compactor. The bedrooms are reached via the staircase in the wheelhouse. In the bow is the owner's cabin with a Queen bed and en-suite toilet and bathroom. Below there are two more double guest cabins with separate toilet and bathroom. The entire boat is heated by underfloor heating. In addition, there is an air conditioning system so that it is pleasant to stay on board in any weather.

 

Steering and navigating can be done inside the comfortable helm station or on the flybridge. There is a very extensive Furuno navigation system with large LCD screens. With bow and stern thruster, the boat can be easily controlled from both helm positions when maneuvering in small harbors. There is an extensive hydraulic system that operates the bow, and stern thruster, anchor winch, the crane for the dinghy, and the winches on the aft deck. The engine room is accessed via the hatch in the aft deck. The space below deck is divided into two parts. At the back you will find the battery banks, diving compressor, and watermaker. At the front are the two John Deere engines and other technical equipment in the well-insulated engine room. The engine compartment is closed off with a watertight door.

 

The Altena 53 custom was launched in 2009 after a construction period of approximately 18 months and is in good condition as it has been used only sparingly.
