The Hagg 46 is a timeless classic with a modern twist: a robust, elegant motor yacht built for adventure, comfort, and style. Designed by the legendary Arthur Ernest Hagg (1888–1985), a respected yacht designer of the 20th century, and built by Randall & McGregor in 1967, this vessel combines old-school craftsmanship with the power and reliability of modern engineering. Hagg, known for his innovative and functional designs, stood for ships that were not only beautiful but also performed excellently at sea. His designs, such as the Hagg 46, are still valued for their seaworthiness, balance, and timeless elegance.
With a V-hull and cold moulded construction – thin mahogany strips cross-glued with jute and saturated with resorcinol glue – the hull is not only strong but also resistant to the elements. This construction method was revolutionary in its time and still provides a lightweight, yet robust structure that is perfect for both calm and challenging waters.
With a length of 14.80 meters and a width of 3.55 meters offers the Hagg 46 spacious living and sleeping accommodation. The interior is equipped with 3 cabins and 6 berths (+1 extra), a cozy salon, and a functional kitchen with 3-burner gas stove, oven and refrigerator. The Eberspächer heating provides warmth during colder days, while the headroom of 1.95 meters allows for comfortable standing and moving.
Under the hood are two Perkins Sabre M225 Ti engines (225 hp each, built in 2006) with only 1,200 operating hours, coupled to a V-Drive propulsion and Hurth ZF63C gearboxes. With a cruising speed of 13 knots and a maximum power of 19 knots this ship is not only fast, but also economical: consumption is between 5 and 20 liters per hour per engine. The Fisher Panda 4500 generator and Victron Multiplus inverter ensure a reliable power supply, wherever you are.
The Hagg 46 is equipped with modern navigation and safety systems, including Raymarine ST60 (depth sounder, speedometer, log and autopilot), a Sailor RT2048 VHF radio, and an Trilens radar reflector. The electric Lofrans anchor winch, swimming ladder and bimini top make life on board even easier. With a air draft of 3.65 meters and double steering this ship is perfect for both coastal cruising and long voyages.
Whether you are looking for a fast pleasure yacht, a family vacation ship, or a partially houseboat, the Hagg 46 offers it all. With its tough appearance, green-blue/grey hull color and timeless elegance this is a ship that stands out – and stays with you. As a true Hagg this yacht carries the legacy of a designer who strived for perfection in form and function.
