The Sovereign 54 is a solid built in South Africa by John Robertson Yachts. She is extremely fast and yet suitable to cruising. The deck layout is is well thought out and the deckgear is mounted in the right place so that the crew can control big rig properly.
The spacious interior is made with teak wood. In the middle of the boat is an oval seating area with a sofa and the navigation area opposite. Right aft is the galley. There are two double cabins and a cabin with bunk beds. The bow has a sail storage adjoining workroom. Through a locker in the stern is also an area for storage of big items. The engine was replaced in 2003 for the current Yanmar.
All in all is the Sovereign 54 an interesting yacht. Technically well in order, but some cosmetic work to be done. Then again, the boat is offered at a very competitive price.
