More about the Havkat 31

This Havkat 31, designed by Lars Oudrup, was built by Rhebergen in Amsterdam as a demo, and the boat we are offering you is therefore hull number "1". The entire boat is made of sandwich polyester with foam. Despite her age, she is in excellent condition, especially because the owner has spared no expense or effort to keep her in shape. For example, the rigging was completely renewed in 2007, and there is an extensive sail wardrobe of quality sails. The 31 Havkat has a tall fractional rig with baby stay and checkstays. She is designed to be sailed with a mainsail and self-tacking jib, but there is also a regular genoa. She is very easy to handle by just 2 experienced sailors. There is an asymmetric spinnaker and there are two larger symmetric spinnakers. The latter two are sailed on a normal spinnaker pole, while for the first there is a carbon telescopic pole that ingeniously slides in under the trampoline. The, practically new, engine is placed in an engine box between the hulls. The engine starts electrically and delivers more than enough power to make good headway and maneuver well even in strong winds. The most important feature of the Havkat 31 is her large center cockpit, which can also be largely covered with an awning, creating a lot of living space. On standard Havkats, the rear section consists of trampoline, but on this boat there is a hard floor here, providing a great deal of living space. The accommodation in the hulls consists of a double bed aft port, and two single beds in the starboard hull. In the port hull are the navigation station and the bathroom. The toilet is even equipped with a black water tank. The galley is located in the middle of the starboard hull. The Havkat 31 is a fast cruising catamaran for the experienced sailor. Among catamaran sailors, the Havkat is already a well-known name. This boat is also interesting for experienced monohull sailors, although one will need to familiarize oneself with sailing this type of boat. This effort will certainly be rewarded, because sailing the Havkat is a true sensation, every single time!
