More about the Loodsjol Ww92

We are pleased to offer you this super fun and very charming Loodsjol, including a wonderful and rich history. This is a special launch because of its beautiful construction and seaworthiness, and of course also because of the special story behind it.

A small piece of general background information about this special launches, or actually we should say yawl; "In 1946 this type of yawl was first built by the state shipyard Willemsoord and the company Wester in Woubrugge. The first engines (Bukh diesel) had to be hand-cranked to start. Later came the Farymann engines, which were made electric-start by the Pilotage. In total, about 140 of these yawls were built for the Dutch Pilotage and the Navy, of which 28 were made of polyester. The last yawl, the WW 133, was built in 1973 for the pilot vessel "Fomalhaut"

In the case of this launch the "WW92" in particular, she was built in 1956 as a pilot's yawl, after which she could immediately go into service as a yawl aboard the Minesweeper M830 "Sittart". Here she served until 1975 for the Royal Navy under registration number "Z-126". In the '70s all pilot's yawls in the navy were replaced, and in 1979 the "WW92" was converted at De Rietschans in Loosdrecht into a luxury launch and came into private ownership.

This pilot's yawl is beautifully built and renovated with authentic details such as the hung rudder. The hull is made of clinker-laid elm planking on oak frames with a bright-varnished teak transom. The foredeck and aft deck are likewise made of teak with mahogany trim. On the small aft deck, a solar panel has been integrated, an accessory from modern times but nonetheless very practical.

The drivetrain consists of a 1978 Buck engine with 36 hp, which was fully overhauled in 2015 at Fa. O. Weinholt in Amsterdam and neatly installed, and has always been well maintained by the current owner of the vessel.

In short, if you are looking for a very charming launch with an interesting history and, thanks to her past as a Loodsjol (pilot boat), particularly good sailing characteristics, then this "WW92" is exactly what you need.
