More about the Vilm 2
The Vilm 2 that we offer is from the 2nd owner (purchased in 1989) and in a good state of maintenance. The hull was polished and waxed in May 2019, and new antifouling was also applied. Once on board you immediately notice how stable this ship feels. The teak deck (20 mm glued on fiberglass mats and Multiplex for shipbuilding) was completely re-cemented in 2010 and still looks great. The gangways are wide and offer a safe and easy passage. The cockpit is spacious and thanks to the wheelhouse with fixed windows it is good to stay in bad weather. From here you have a good overview of the ship, the instruments and the environment. In the wheelhouse is a staircase to the rear, so you can reach the aft cabin. Here you will find two single beds that can easily be expanded into one spacious double bed. From the wheelhouse you also go down the stairs to the saloon. It is immediately noticeable how large and light this space is. The interior has a nautical atmosphere, with lacquered mahogany and gray upholstery. The layout is practical, with a corner couch and table on the port side and a long bench on the starboard side. The saloon offers 3 extra sleeping places, two on port and one on starboard. Also on the port side is the galley, equipped with a refrigerator, two coverable sinks, stove and oven. On starboard you will find the chart table, with all necessary equipment. Further to the front is the front cabin, the toilet and the necessary cupboard space. A door can be used to close either the cabin or the toilet. This Vilm 2 is a robust and solid no-nonsense ship which, due to its seaworthy and stable sailing properties, is ideal for long journeys and longer stays on board.
