More about the Nicholson Ketch
The Nicholson Ketch that we can offer is built in three years from 1966 and launched in 1969 from the famous Halmatic yard in Portsmouth. The classic chic design is very spacious and makes a long stay on board possible. In the last 10 years many renovations have taken place while the boat was halted. Now this stylish boat is totally ready to go. The boat is a ketch rig with aluminium mast and wooden booms. The sails are hoisted at the mastfoot. Sheets are all led to the central cockpit so the boat easy to handle. Ideal is the electric furler on the jib so that furling in and out happens with the touch on a button. On the bow is a heavy duty electric anchor winch. All deck hardware and equipment is of good quality and a part of the original Lewmar parts contribute to the charm of the yacht. The interior has a charm that is not found on modern boats and you immediately are back to times long gone but all the modern conveniences are still available. In the midship are saloon with helm and navigation area. The dinette and galley with large refrigerator and electric stove are a step down in the middle of the boat. The boat has separate front and rear compartments connected by a central corridor. The bow has a guest cabin with separate bathroom. In the stern is a large owner's cabin with en suite bathroom. The engine room is under the saloon floor. Here is not only a heavy Volvo Penta engine, but also a main engine generator for power. The Nicholson ketch is a true gentle man s boat and very seaworthy, like all other designs Nicholson. This is a one-off that is an eye catcher in every port. We cordially invite you for a visit.
