More about the De Vries Lentsch 800

Sailing yacht or cabin launch now from the broker itself!!

Once in a while a real gem of a boat comes onto the market, and this is that moment. A classic, original De Vries Lentsch cabin sailboat, built in 1967 - it was one of the last designs of this famous N.V. Amsterdam Shipyard (the yard that also built the royal yacht, the Lemster ketch the Groene Draeck).

The long keeler is almost 60 years old but visibly very well maintained (woodwork, mast, paintwork, sails, fittings). She is entirely made of teak, including an original teak deck in excellent condition, and eight meters long. All original details (original bronze fittings) have been preserved, kept in good condition or replaced in original style. From the galvanized anchor, with galvanized anchor chain (and anchor locker), to the portholes and the vents (new) made of bronze.

The original mast was fully renovated in 2025, during which all the fittings were removed to completely refurbish the mast. The stays are new (the stay tensioners are made of bronze, as are the pins); the boat also has a lovely skipper's deckhouse roof with a round window for daylight. All around is a rubbing strip, also featuring a decorative bronze trim. The cabin has several safety handgrips. There is also a large bow locker available in the cockpit, offering plenty of storage space.

With the sailing yacht you get three sails, matched to the rigging, and there is a nice fast furling jib with a convenient roller furling system.

The wide gangways and lovely sea railing with a large cockpit make the sailing yacht very suitable for comfortably sailing/cruising with four or more people. The hung rudder provides a pleasant steering experience, the boat is easy to handle, even for beginning sailors. Please note, the sailing yacht could potentially also sail as a launch; the clearance height is 195m.
It is also an exceptionally stable ship thanks to its weight (4500 kilos). The powerful engine, Sole, three-cylinder, 29 HP Diesel, sails pleasantly and creates little wake – and sails, for example, at 19 km per hour, without mast.

This de Vries Lentsch is not only a showpiece but also a practical sailing yacht, perfect for enjoyable trips with all the comforts you need, and for extended stays on board. There are four berths available, both in the cabin and in the bow and stern, but what really makes this 1967 classic so unique are the modern facilities. There is a new electric toilet on board; a new television; the electrical system was completely replaced in 2022 (including four AGM batteries (2024), a Victron charger and inverter. While underway, without shore power, you can easily make coffee, cook (two-burner ceramic hob) or watch television; all cushions have been completely renewed, made of elegant cream-white (sky)leather, crafted by a professional yacht interior upholsterer (Astrid van den Berg, Vinkeveen), including the curtains; there is a Silvercrest microwave, cooktop (which shows how much wattage is being used) and a Nespresso coffee machine on board (included).

The current owner has, for over 9 years, taken great pleasure and care in ‘pampering’ the boat year after year; she is fully varnished every year with Epifanes Rapid Clear and high-gloss varnish, gets new antifouling every two years, and is kept indoors every winter season (October-March) to maintain her excellent condition.
