More about the Regina af Vindö Autoboot

The soul of 1910, built for today

With her sleek lines of 9 meters long and only 1.40 meters wide this special motor launch is a rare sight on the water. She is not a mass product, but a unique replica of a motor launch from 1910 — built based on an original ship that once served as a mould. Only two examples were ever made. This is number one. One of a kind.

Built by Builder Fred Willemsen, with maintenance always carried out with great care at Jachtwerf de Bruijn in Weesp, every detail breathes craftsmanship and a love for classic boats.

The hull — sleek in navy blue, powerful above an anthracite underwater hull — combines the reliability of polyester with the warm, lively appearance of a solid wooden superstructure. The deck, completely stripped and rebuilt in the winter of 2025 with eight layers of varnish, shines like a mirror in the sun.

Sailing where others stop

What truly makes this boat special is her elegance in motion.
With a clearance height of just 1 metre — and even 0.60 metres with the windows folded down — the No5 opens up routes that remain closed to other boats.

Think of:

  • The quiet side passages of bridges near Weesp
  • Sailing straight through to Amsterdam without waiting or locking
  • Intimate waterways where only the true enthusiast ventures

This is not a boat that takes you somewhere.
This is a boat that lets you reach anywhere.

Power and comfort in silence

Beneath her classic looks lies modern reliability.
A 45 HP Solé Diesel engine provides smooth power, with a cruising speed of around 10 knots and a top speed of 15.

She is surprisingly economical — with a range that lets you go effortlessly back and forth to Friesland brings, as she has proven several times in the past.

The bow thruster makes maneuvering in narrow canals effortless.
You steer just like in a car: direct, intuitive, familiar.

A life full of stories

The No5 is not just any launch.
She has lived.

  • Escort boat during the legendary Great River Race on the Thames
  • Present at the Volvo Ocean Race in Rotterdam
  • Participated twice in Sail Amsterdam
  • Countless trips over the Vecht, the Randmeren and the Frisian waters

And everywhere she went, the same thing happened:
people looked up, smiled… and gave a thumbs up.

"Good for the skipper's ego," as the owner puts it so well.

Comfort and atmosphere

On board, everything revolves around experience:

  • Classic wooden windows (foldable)
  • Luxury cushions in burgundy, light grey and stylish stripes
  • Wooden foldable swimming ladder for summer days
  • Complete set of lines and fenders in anthracite and black
  • Summer and winter covers, matching her elegant appearance

Everything is right. Everything feels well thought out.

A farewell with feeling

For more than 20 years, the No5 was part of a life on the water.
Of several vessels, only this one remained in the end — the favourite.

But times change.
More time spent abroad and physical limitations mean that this beloved boat is now being bid farewell.

Not out of necessity, but out of care.
Because she deserves a new owner. An enthusiast.

Who is this boat for?

For someone who is not looking for a boat… but for an experience.
For someone who values history, style and character.
For someone who understands that some things are irreplaceable.

Additional description:

Beneath the classic lines and warm wood of the No5 of Muiden beats a heart you don't see — but that you feel with every voyage: the Solé Diesel engine.

No flashy power source, but a quiet, reliable companion.
An engine that doesn't ask for attention, but gives you confidence — every time you turn the key.

Reliability you can take with you

This 45 HP diesel engine from 2004 was built with one purpose: keep running, year after year.
Whether you're gliding calmly through the Vecht or heading towards the Frisian lakes — this engine gets you there without drama, without doubt.

With a 60 liter fuel tank, the No5 has proven what it can do:
multiple trouble-free trips back and forth to Friesland, with just one relaxed stop along the way.

This is not an engine for haste.
This is an engine for confidence.

Quiet power, pure sailing pleasure

What immediately stands out is the way the Solé delivers its power.
No aggressive acceleration, but a smooth, steady build-up that perfectly matches the character of the boat.

  • Cruising speed around 10 knots
  • Top speed up to approximately 15 knots
  • Remarkably fuel-efficient

You hear her softly in the background, while the water whispers along the hull.
Exactly as sailing is meant to be.

Built for comfort and control

The engine is coupled to a shaft drive with propeller, which ensures direct and stable transmission. Combined with the bow thruster, maneuvering becomes almost effortless — even in the narrow canals of Amsterdam.

On board you always have a clear overview:

  • Fuel gauge
  • Speedometer
  • Reliable cooling system (water-cooled)

Everything functional. Everything clear. No unnecessary complexity.

Maintenance and care

What makes this engine extra special is not just the technology — but the care with which it has been treated.
Always maintained at Jachtwerf de Bruijn in Weesp, together with the rest of the ship.

You feel that.
You hear that.
You notice that with every start.

The power behind the character

A boat like the No5 of Muiden requires an engine that understands her.
Not too modern, not too loud, not too complex.

But just right.

The Solé diesel is not a side note.
It is the quiet power that makes every trip possible — from short evening cruises to long, worry-free journeys.

Step aboard, start the engine…
and you immediately know: this feels right.
