Reliable engine
The Peugeot Indenor DTP-62 diesel engine is a proven power source: economical, quiet and incredibly strong. This engine is known for its long lifespan and ease of maintenance – perfect for those who want to sail worry-free. I personally own this engine privately as well, and it is a very good engine. With proper maintenance, so new oil and a new oil filter every year, the engine will outlive the boat itself, in other words, virtually indestructible.

The Peugeot Indenor DTP-62 is a 4-cylinder diesel engine based on the Peugeot XD2 engine, a robust engine originally used in cars such as the Peugeot 504 and 505.
Displacement DTP-62
Displacement (cylinder capacity): 2,304 cm³ (or 2.3 liters)
- Number of cylinders: 4
- Bore x stroke: 94 mm x 83 mm
- Compression ratio: approx. 22:1
- Power (depending on version and RPM): ± 62 hp at 4,200 RPM (for cars), usually around 50–55 hp at 3,000 RPM for maritime applications
This engine is derived from the XD2 diesel engine, and the “62” in DTP-62 refers to the original power output in hp at a higher RPM (car). For maritime or industrial applications, the RPM is usually limited, and the power output lower but more reliable.
