More about the Kroes Boemerang ( Zelfbouw )

This Kroes Boemerang self-built is built based on the construction drawings of designer Gait Kroes of Kroes Bootbouwers in Kampen. The design came about after a design competition in the Waterkampioen. The builder has chosen to build the ship not overnaad but karveel, creating a nice tight and smooth hull. The cabin roof is slightly raised and the cabin floor lowered creating more height in the cabin.

The vessel was built entirely in wood-epoxy. Mahogany was used for the hull and superstructure of the Kroes Boemerang. The beautiful teak deck gives the Boemerang a beautiful luxurious and classic look.

In the cockpit there is enough space for comfortable sailing of the ship. All halyards and sheets are guided aft. Winches and stoppers placed on the cabin roof allow the sails to be hoisted from the cockpit. The cockpit-mounted selftailing sheet winches provide easy operation of the headsails.

The cabin is equipped with two generous beds which also serve as a comfortable sofa. Attached to the mast support is the cabin table which can easily be turned away to create more space. Next to the entrance are the sink and stove. In the forepeak, which serves as storage space, the toilet is located to port and the fresh water tank is also located. On the starboard side is a storage cupboard.

When not sailing, the reliable Ruggerini marine diesel ensures the propulsion of this classic sailing yacht.
