More about the RCC 34 Lifting Keel

We offer the RCC 34 lifting throat on behalf of the 1st owner. The boat is suitable for both shallow waters and open water thanks to the hydraulic lifting throat with lead torpedo bulb. She is well maintained and ready to go on holiday immediately. The concept is no-nonsense and offers pure sailing pleasure and is very easy to sail with all sailing operations done from the cockpit. The boat is very fast, the sailing characteristics are comparable to modern sporty yachts. On the port side there is a very large storage box in the cockpit, which even fits 2 racing bikes! The boat has a doghouse, ideal for large trips at sea. You are very sheltered here with a view all around, also ideal in the harbor because, unlike a normal cabin, you can see everything around you. There is room for four people on board and there are two berths in the bow and stern. In the cabin is the dinette with 2 chairs opposite and the chart table. There is a desk on the port side, ideal if you have to work from time to time in addition to relaxing. The galley has a stove and oven. There is also a small refrigerator.

The RCC 34 Lifting keel was built at Rhebergen Composite Constructions, Amsterdam. This yard built many one-off racing yachts, including trimarans for round the world. The boat is built in foam epoxy composite; a foam core of waterproof foam, covered with glass mats. The most heavily loaded parts are additionally reinforced with Kevlar. Epoxy is applied to both sides under vacuum pressure. The result is a light and strong/rigid hull, completely resistant to osmosis. Due to the lifting keel with lead torpedo, the center of gravity is low and stability is optimal. The keel box is cleverly integrated into the interior so that it is not an obstacle. An electrically driven hydraulic installation has been installed to raise the keel. The operation is done by means of switches in the cockpit. The boat has double rudders, so that the draft with the keel raised is only 95 cm and with the keel down the draft is 205 cm. The sprayhood is 1 year old and the mast and standing rigging have been renewed this year (Z-spars).
