More about the X-Yachts X-412 Mk III

The X-412 was designed by Niels Jeppesen, one of the three founders of the company. The X-yard called the X-412 -the most beautiful, elegant X-Yacht ever- and the large number of boats they sold prove that many sailors agree with them. The model was introduced in 1990 and updated to Mk II in 1994 and Mk III in 1999. It is still going strong and looking great today. The X-Yachts core values are; quality in design, construction and fittings, and a commitment to sailing performance in terms of both speed and comfort at sea. Construction uses solid GRP around the keel, engine and rudder areas, E-glass/foam core sandwich in the hull and deck and a galvanised steel structural grid to support rig and keel loads. The mast is keel-stepped and the emphasis is on achieving a strong and stiff hull of moderate displacement. The weight is concentrated out of the ends where possible for the sake of performance and pleasant behaviour at sea. The eXtase has many extras, including a sophisticated navigation system using a laptop computer with navigation software and charts installed. Instruments give readouts on three places; at the helm, on the bridge and on a mast bracket. There is a full set of sails, all by North Sails including gennaker and spinnaker with a carbon fibre spinnaker pole. The six winches are Harken two-speed self-tailors; the primaries are two-speed electrical. The boat has a comfortable three cabin layout. The teak joinery is of a very high standard and the quality of inclusions both above and below deck contributes to the over-all luxury feel. The salon has an oval shaped table with sofa s around it. To starboard are the galley and chart table. On portside is a large head with toilet, washbowl and shower. In the bow is a double cabin with en-suite head and climate control. The X-412 continues to offer a very attractive package for sailors who like to race but also want the option of comfortable cruising with family and friends — and are prepared to pay for quality. The boat we offer is priced very interesting, especially since it has undergone a major refit in 2009. We gladly invte you for a visit on board in Muiderzand (NL).
