More about the Trewes 44 Privateer

The Trewes 44 Privateer is a nice van der Meer classic design, built by Van Dam in Aalsmeer. The nostalgic design is focused on long journeys and long stay on board so the boat is also suitable to for living on board. In recent years many major overhauling was carried out and the boat is fully ready to go. Ideal about the ketch rig is that for every wind strength and direction there is a sailing position. There may well be reefed in many small steps and maneuvering is not more complex than with a sloop rig. The sails are hoisted on the masts and sheets are lead to the winches around the cockpit. Beautiful details are the bowsprit and the windows in the mirror. All deck hardware and equipment is of good quality and works just fine despite the age. The boat has separate front and rear compartments. Amidships is the salon with galley and navigation area. In the stern is a large owner's cabin with en suite bathroom. Through the windows in the hull one has view around. The bow has a guest cabin with separate bathroom. The central wheelhouse is an ideal place both in port and at sea. Here you have good view of the entire boat. Because the cockpit is entirely covered by a cover attached to the fixed superstructure an extra salon is created. The reardeck is flat and a great terrace in the port. The engineroom is under the cockpit floor and is accessible through a hatch. The Trewes 44 is a design that over the years has proven to be very seaworthy. Sisterships are found in all corners of the world but the boat that we offer is not been far from home yet. We cordially invite you for a visit. Do you have any questions or would like an appointment, do not hesitate to contact us. Your yacht broker, Robert de Vries, tel 06-50201336.
