More about the Beneteau First 40

This Beneteau First 40 from the year 2011 is a design by Farr Yacht Design. The yacht combines structural stiffness and sailing characteristics with a functional interior, making it suitable for both sporty cruising and competitive racing at a high level. This specific example is a former charter boat and the current private owner has owned her privately since 2021 and has traveled with her for three years. There are therefore a few points of attention.

The advantage of a sporty ship like the First 40 is the spacious cockpit. Necessary workspace for a race crew, but that same spacious cockpit also gives the ship a lot of space to relax. Thanks to the large steering wheel, the helmsman has a good overview and precise control over the rudder. The deck hardware is of high quality and strategically placed to ensure smooth operation of the halyards and sheets from the cockpit. The keel and rudder are designed for minimal resistance and maximum lift at varying heel angles. The Beneteau First 40 has long proven itself among enthusiasts as a ship with fantastic sailing characteristics in various racing fields. But for many water sports enthusiasts, it may be a surprise that this ship is more than excellent for serious long trips on large waters.

A characteristic of the entire First range of Beneteau is that they have found a particularly pleasant balance between sportiness and comfort. The woodwork is light in color, which creates a spacious effect below deck, and she is equipped with 3 cabins, a wet cell, and a generous saloon. In the forepeak is the owner's cabin with a double bed, the necessary storage space, and private access to the wet cell. The saloon has two longitudinal benches and a central table. The functional galley is located on the port side, equipped with a refrigerator, a two-burner stove with oven, and a double sink. On the starboard side is the navigation corner with the switch panel and space for peripherals. The two identical cabins in the aft offer a full-fledged sleeping place for two people and extra closet space. The wet cell is equipped with a toilet, sink, and shower facilities.

For propulsion on the engine, this yacht is equipped with a reliable Yanmar diesel engine with saildrive. The engine compartment is well insulated and easily accessible for regular maintenance. The onboard electrical system is powered by a separate battery system for starting and service consumers, which are charged via the alternator on the engine or via the shore power connection with battery charger. The navigation instruments on board are functional in the cockpit and placed above the cabin entrance, so that all relevant data on depth, speed, position and wind are directly readable from almost any place in the cockpit.

This Beneteau First 40 is equipped with a beautiful set of sails and the running rigging is in good condition. Thanks to the many trim options, the sail plan can be precisely adjusted to the prevailing wind conditions and, of course, the crew's fanaticism to get the most out of the ship. This First 40 loves to be raced at the cutting edge in a competition field, but if you just want to quietly enjoy a beautiful day on the water with family and friends, that is also possible. This ship is truly versatile.

This nice First 40 can be viewed by appointment and offers a good basis for sailors looking for a fantastic sailing ship with the necessary comfort on board for a nice holiday with family and friends. A ship with a wide range of sailing capabilities and all that, especially for a ship of this caliber, at a remarkably manageable budget. She certainly needs love and attention, which is why she is sharply priced for the quick decision-maker. And in any case, you will have a fantastic ship!
